Churches Together

Ingatestone is blessed with a very active Churches Together organisation representing 6 churches. Various opportunities are offered for Christians to worship, learn and witness together in the villages of Ingatestone and Fryerning.

The courses are rich in content and the small groups provide a great opportunity for fellowship with other Christians. At least 5 people usually attend from St. John's so there will always be friendly faces to welcome you. If you would like to know more please contact Beryl O’Brien or Marie-Claire Joyce Noguchi.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Ingatestone and Fryerning Churches Together usually celebrate Christian Unity week with one combined service on a Sunday afternoon. Ministers and lay people from the various churches in our village take part in delivering the service and there is good attendance from people across the different Christian traditions. It is always a wonderful occasion and a witness to the close links and friendship between the churches in our village.

New Year's Eve
A Churches Together service is hosted by St. Edmond and St. Mary Anglican Church from 6-7pm prior to the village fireworks. The service is a wonderful opportunity to join with other Christians in thanksgiving for the year just ending and to look forward with hope to the coming year.

Ingatestone Late Summer BBQ
Since September 2013, Ingatestone and Fryerning Churches Together have hosted a BBQ in the grounds of St. Edmond and St. Mary Parish Church. Several hundred guests usually attend and enjoy BBQ food, conversation and a live band on a pleasant late summer afternoon. The BBQ is a free gift to the village from the churches, mirroring God’s free love for us.

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all."
Ephesians 4:4-6
